Ranging from FCCLA and Biomedical Club to Interact and Key Club, there are many clubs that stand out at Mills, but one holds the key to everyone’s hearts.
Mills Little Miracles is a club at Mills that focuses on ending the boundaries between children with disabilities. Little Miracles partners with KEEN SF in order to play noncompetitive games and challenges for those with special needs. The main goal of the club is to welcome everyone and create a safe space for those who might not be understanding of students with disabilities.
Leona Sin (12), Vice President of the Little Miracles, has gone through quite a journey since the club started last year. When asked what being in the club means to her personally, Sin commented, “When I volunteer with Little Miracles, it creates a safe space where the kids of all abilities are able to feel seen, included, and just enjoy their time. Seeing the kids happy makes me feel happy, and I’m just glad to be able to contribute to it.”
Additionally, Sin shared her favorite part about being in the club. “I just really love interacting with the kids, and seeing them get excited over small accomplishments makes me feel happy, and I’m just glad to be able to contribute to it.”

Another board member who shares the same passion for Little Miracles is Crystal Cen (12). Now a senior in high school and secretary of the club, she shared how being a part of Little Miracles makes her feel as if she is contributing to something meaningful. She enjoys creating a welcoming environment for all.
“We partner with SF KEEN with one clear goal: to run fun, accessible activities where neurodivergent kids and teens can just be themselves,” said Cen. “By creating this welcoming space, we help them feel included and valued, which in turn builds a stronger and more connected community.” She then talked more about how Little Miracles impacts Mills, commenting, “I think the club has helped make Mills a more understanding and inclusive place.” Cen continued, “By encouraging students to join us during SF KEEN activities, we raise awareness and show students what it looks like to support others. It motivates people to be more mindful and involved.”
Both Sin and Cen shared their favorite memories from being in the club – the iconic rainbow parachute that we would play with as little kids. To them, using these are the highlights of these volunteering events. Seeing the kids laugh and have the biggest smile on their faces is really why Sin and Cen love this nostalgic activity.
Through reaching out to kids with disabilities outside of Mills, sharing their time, laughter, and kindness, Little Miracles encourages inclusivity while spreading warmth and love to all.
