MILLS – A blockbuster multi-aspect trade has sent shockwaves through the baseball community at Mills and the as well as the Peninsula Athletic League’s Ocean Division. The Mills Vikings varsity baseball team has traded sophomore outfielder Carison Chiu to the Burlingame Panthers, sources tell The Thunderbolt.
The details of the blockbuster trade includes Burlingame trading two eight grade baseball prospects, $500 for compensation and $350 worth of baseball equipment to the Vikings. The Panthers will receive Chiu and two future draft picks, league office confirmed. Chiu will also receive a personal shuttle with a professional driver to drive him around the Bay.

I reached out to his agent, Aunt Mary Jane, for comments and did not receive an immediate response. The Vikings front office wrote in a statement, “We want to thank Carison Chiu for his time with the Vikings and would like to wish him good luck with his new team of the Burlingame Panthers.”
I contacted the coaches of Mills baseball for comments, but they have declined to provide any further comments or details regarding the matter of the trade.
Chiu told me that he didn’t find out about the trade until last Thursday, after their practice, where their coach pulled him aside and informed him that he was being traded to Burlingame.
He recalled the event and expressed, “I was devastated after hearing the news. I’m heartbroken and I’m going to miss all my teammates here at Mills.”
“To all my Mills fans and teammates, thank you all so much for supporting me these past two years and making this my home. Thank you to my teammates and coaches for all the laughter and joy,” he continued his statement. The next chapter of my baseball career starts now. #10 out!”

Teammate and infielder Ethan Wong (10) expressed his thoughts on the trade saying, “He has been a key player for our team, but he’s getting old. We decided to trade him for some future prospects, hopefully rebuilding the team.”
Pitcher and outfielder Lucas Wong (10) also added, “I really hope for the best for him. He was a great player and a good guy. I’m glad Burlingame got another stud. Hopefully, we get some good first rounders in return.”
Chiu will be doing a final press conference at Mills on March 30 and will meet with the Panthers front office the first week of April. The Panthers will host an introductory press conference, where he will receive his new jersey, the team’s public relations (PR) manager announced.
